ABOUT
ABOUT MOHINI

Mohini is a Ph.D. student in Behavioral Analytics and Social Psychology. She is also a professional portrait photographer and artist. Mohini has a background in Computer Science and Cognitive Science and likes to apply it (along with her knowledge of psychology) to her research and art to help her understand why people do the things they do.

MOHINI'S RESEARCH

Mohini's main interests include understanding community behaviors through the actions of individuals, specifically in the online forum world (reddit, youtube, social media). Her most recent project addresses the following broader questions: "How does participating in toxic online communities affect a person's life?"   and  "How do those communities differ?" She primarily uses language analysis (NLP) techniques as well as social network modeling  to answer these questions.

MOHINI'S ART & PHOTOGRAPHY

Mohini enjoys creating art that conveys a story and personality through mood, texture, natural light photography, illustration, mixed media art techniques, and unique environments that have significant meaning to her and her clients.

She is extremely interested in the intricacies of what makes us all different and hopes to help convey the beauty in those differences through her craft.
